We’re head-over-heels for Katie & Jamie’s English Country Garden wedding which took place in April. We LOVE a garden wedding especially with all that dappled sunlight and quintessential British wedding style!

Katie was one of our first LOVE brides to get married after this year’s lockdown. Despite the continuing restrictions, their intimate garden reception of 10 guests allowed them to keep things natural and simple, exactly as they wanted.

Jamie proposed in Iceland in January 2019, they then spent the following days travelling around and even managed to catch a glimpse of the elusive Northern lights.

Their wedding took place on the 17th April at St Michaels Church in Bramhall, a special sentimental place for Katie’s family, where her parents got married and her grandparents are laid to rest. After the ceremony, they headed to a charming garden reception and surprise dinner at the home of Katie’s parents.

Whilst the wedding was attended by a maximum of 10 guests due to COVID restrictions, friends and family were able to attend virtually via Zoom to witness the cake cutting and fireworks display. Not only was the wedding beautiful but also incredibly emotional when other family and friends waited outside the church (in line with COVID rules) to see them come out as a newly married couple. Teamed with a surprise video montage from everyone close to them, Katie told us that despite the socialising restrictions, their friends and family made it “memorable beyond anything they could have imagined.”

Katie chose the exquisite and effortlessly elegant Sassi Holford India dress with its long sleeves, high neck, ombre detailed bodice and stunningly sheer back. With a satin chiffon skirt that catches the light beautifully, the India dress oozes sophistication. Katie complemented this with the matching veil that mirrored the intricate lace pattern of the India dress. She accessorised in an understated yet luxurious way with drop diamond earrings, Jimmy Choos and, of course, her gorgeous engagement ring.

Katie had already spotted and tried on the India dress in our boutique in February 2020 before the first lockdown but then had to wait until the summer when we re-opened to try it on again. Our LOVE stylist Charlotte was on hand to help and encourage Katie to try on lots of gorgeous dresses to ensure Katie was fully confident in the dress choice she was making.  Katie said, “The Sassi Holford India dress was 100% the right decision as everyone on the day said it was perfectly me.”

The second lockdown followed soon after but always confident in our LOVE team, Katie was never in doubt that the storage and delivery and any alterations of her dress would be perfectly managed. Katie told us, “I loved everything about my experience at LOVE Bridal. Emma & Charlotte were so lovely and made me feel very special. I’m so glad I was a LOVE bride and I would not hesitate to recommend LOVE to anyone looking to find their perfect dress.”

We LOVE this timeless, romantic and beautifully British wedding. With fabulous florals such as tulips, peonies, roses and ranunculus and the clinking of G&T’s, Katie and Jamie’s English Country Garden wedding epitomised everything that is wonderful about intimate weddings.

Blooming with happiness, LOVE really does grow in garden weddings!
