I can’t believe a couple of weeks have already gone by since The Wedding Edit! This was our 4th bridal showcase and each year I think it can’t get better but somehow it does!!

This year, it was the perfect autumn day and the setting at Styal Lodge Wedding Venue was simply superb.  There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes, from months of planning to the day itself when all our lovely wedding suppliers pull out all the stops to make this a showcase that wedding dreams are made of.

Huge thanks to our beautiful models, Georgie (who was also our fab choreographer), Sarah, Tamsyn, Natalie, Akvilé and Amie who showed off the stunning wedding collections from our designers Enzoani, Sarah Seven, Savannah Miller and Sassi Holford to amazing effect. They looked so elegant having had the complete styling experience from the team at Flossy and Leigh, whose flawless wedding hair and makeup is second to none (and guests at our event got to experience it first hand too!).

The models wore show-stopping accessories and headpieces from Eleventh Heaven by Ann McAvney including a lacquered ivy headpiece, a sparkler inspired crown, an autumn inspired wired cap with Swarovski moss green, fireopal, Indian red and light topaz and rich yellow toned mother of pearl carved flowers (this one was created especially for our catwalk show and that yellow dress!) and so much more! In fact over a meter of hand-wired Swarovski crystals and pearls made their way down our runway!

Our dresses were also teamed with stunning shoes from both Harriet Wilde and Charlotte Mills and as they glided down the runway you could audibly hear the ooohs and ahhs of brides-to-be…especially when the rather handsome Aaron dressed by Whitfield and Ward made an appearance! ;o) A special mention to Tamsyn for managing that incredible Enzoani train IN HEELS with just two practice runs in the dresses – no mean feat – and kudos to Whitfield & Ward’s Amie for playing dual roles; representing their dapper clothing on their stand as well as modelling our bridal gowns – she looked simply sensational in the Sarah Seven ‘Marigold’ number (aka ‘Sullivan’)!

The catwalk décor was designed by the very talented Siân at The Flower Lounge  – she used palm leaves, pampas grass (yes we are slightly obsessed with pampas grass at the moment and it was the key word in our brief to Siân!) plus tons of beautiful green foliage – the highlight being the suspended ‘chandelier’ arrangement which everyone loved and created a serious wow factor. Such a statement piece! The Word is Love also provided us with their rustic light-up heart for our catwalk (and rustic LOVE letters in the entranceway).  Our backdrop curtain and lighting construction was provided by the fab Hipswing.

The mood of the event was beautifully enhanced with performances by Ellie Sax, The Switch Entertainment and Sash Sings who we could have listened to all day… Jonny seemed pretty taken with the bongos in rehearsals too! I’m sure we’ll be seeing plenty of them at our brides’ future weddings – the Switch Entertainment that is, not Jonny and his bongos!

A big thank you also to Corrie from The Soirée Stylists who presented the most gorgeous wedding table design and place settings plus a selfie backdrop using our newest interior styling crush – macramé. Her macramé table runner and backdrop were commissioned especially for our event – we’re very honoured indeed! Not forgetting Corrie’s handmade dreamcatchers too which decorated the Lodge’s entranceway. And, you can’t have a table without food, which was lovingly produced by Pink Pepper Catering with their sticky sausages and glitter brownies going down a storm.

As did the exquisite wedding cakes from Laura at Yolk; her stunning semi-naked cakes and elegantly dressed iced cakes were hugely popular, especially once brides could sample how amazing they tasted with her delicious mini cakes in circulation.

We were delighted to have the lovely Poppy from Love From Poppy stationery (and also from  Styal Lodge!) there too showcasing the most beautiful wedding stationery ideas which our brides adored.

The feedback from all the brides (plus mums of brides and girlfriends too) has been overwhelming.  We only showcase the very best in the wedding industry which means The Wedding Edit is intimate and bespoke. We really get to know our brides and them us, which ultimately is the key to having the best wedding dress shopping experience ever!

Massive congratulations to Nasreen Razavi, the lucky winner of our prize draw, taking home to her intended the exciting news that she had bagged them a romantic night away at The Gilpin in the beautiful Lake District! We promise you will not be disappointed – it’s Jonny and I’s ultimate favourite getaway and from the moment we leave we can’t wait to return! The most stunning setting, the most incredible service and a complete escape from reality… bliss. So jealous!

Huge thanks to Styal Lodge and the lovely Higham family for once again welcoming us back to their amazing venue and giving us free rein to style it just as we wanted, and also for all their support on the run up to the event and on the day itself.

My final thanks goes to Jonny, who like every year has been such a huge support. Not only did he act as our official photographer, capturing the most breath-taking shots, but he kept everything on track when I was busy behind the scenes, styling the models. When he wasn’t playing the bongo’s that is! ;o)

Over for another year, but what a magical day it was.  I hope you enjoy looking back at the photos from the day, we can’t wait to share Adam’s footage from Adam Wing Films  – keep a look out on our insta and facebook feeds!

Lots of love,

Emma
