There’s nothing we LOVE more than a romantic autumn wedding, all those vibrant colours and rustic cosy vibes! Patsy and Phil’s breath-taking big day had a hint of boho and tons of style. This is a bit of wedding wow you’ll definitely want to see!

Real life wedding inspiration

This gorgeous Macclesfield couple met at Edgbaston in 2005 at The Ashes (England vs. Australia test cricket) and ended up being bowled over for each other!

Together since 2006, Phil proposed to Patsy in the September of 2020 (after a long innings of 15 years), on one of their favourite walks at Macclesfield Forest. It was at a special place on the walk where Phil’s late brother’s ashes were scattered and surrounded by stunning views overlooking Cheshire and Manchester, he popped the all-important question to Patsy.

Patsy and Phil said “I do” on the 29th of October 2021 at the stunning Styal Lodge. This oh-so-romantic venue is set in idyllic grounds and is breathtakingly beautiful. Nestled in the peaceful village of Styal, this National Trust gem with its rustic charm was perfect for the autumnal wedding look Patsy and Phil wanted.

Capturing all the fabulous textures and colours of this amazing season, the venue was decorated with beautiful rich autumn wreaths and an assortment of natural and painted pumpkins. With the couples love of everything outdoors, walking with their dog in the Peak District and Phil’s love of cycling, they tied this outdoor theme into their table plan too.

Patsy had decided early on in her planning to wear a pair of orange patent Jimmy Choo shoes that her late mum had bought her. Working closely with her florist Tor at Lily Rose Events, Patsy chose a loose boho style hand tied bouquet with burgundy dahlias, eucalyptus, ferns and gorgeous burnt orange roses to compliment her fabulous footwear. After the wedding, Patsy took the orange roses to decorate her parents’ headstones and grave to include them in this special day.

Patsy fell in love with designer Sassi Holford after searching online for her perfect dress. Patsy chose Jessica, one of Sassi’s Holford’s most iconic dresses to wear on her big day. Jessica is a timeless dress that is simple and expertly structured so that it skims your figure to make you feel and look divine. With a sweetheart neckline, column skirt and long button line at the back, Jessica is the epitome of timeless elegance and suited Patsy down to the ground.

For a match made in bridal heaven, Patsy teamed this with the exquisite Sassi Holford Sienna jacket made from delicate tulle with lace embellishments and beautiful long sleeves that provided a subtle, yet stunningly beautiful amount of cover. Patsy wore a floor length plain silk veil and added a beautiful belt for the ceremony.

For an alternative look at her reception Patsy removed the Sienna jacket and changed her belt. We LOVE it when brides get more than one wedding look and aren’t afraid to accessorise on their big day. As a mature bride, Patsy wanted to dial up the elegance but also ensure that she felt confident throughout each part of her special day. With the combination of the Jessica dress and Sienna jacket, Patsy ensured she felt and looked wonderful throughout.

Patsy said her experience at LOVE Bridal was exactly what she needed:

“It felt like Charlotte was a guardian angel – I walked into LOVE Bridal on a Friday in December 2020 after a confidence bashing experience the night before trying on many other gowns in another boutique. Charlotte selected several dresses for me to try on – I then knew it was the Jessica dress I wanted. She also helped me find all the other accessories to pull the look together. Charlotte was constantly on hand to help with indecisions and questions.”

Patsy’s advice to anyone planning a wedding is:

“Planning a wedding can be overwhelming – especially having to make so many decisions. I soon realised that if you ask your suppliers for advice, it gets easier! After all, they do this all the time!”

We couldn’t agree more with Patsy, we LOVE helping our brides find their dream dress and accessories for their perfect wedding look.

Patsy and Phil say the highlight of their day was celebrating with close family and friends plus, for Patsy in particular, getting through the speech without crying!
