You’ll be green with envy when you see Steph and Rob’s beautifully sophisticated September wedding. Elegant, stylish with a neutral black, white, and sage colour scheme that we absolutely LOVE, this was the perfect ‘happy ever after’ for this amazing couple.

Steph and Rob met 10 years ago whilst both studying at Lincoln university. In 2019, Rob popped the question during a picnic in Richmond Park and excitedly the wedding planning began. Little were they to know however that the course of their wedding planning would not run smoothly. Steph and Rob were unexpectedly faced with planning a wedding during the pandemic.  Despite a rollercoaster of challenges and postponements, Steph and Rob finally tied the knot on the 2nd September 2021 at the stunning Aswarby Rectory in Lincolnshire.

With such a gorgeous venue, the theme of the wedding was based around the simplicity of the location with its classic, minimalist, and elegant décor. Situated amongst lush green gardens that surround the property, Aswarby Rectory is a simply breathtaking location with its huge Georgian windows, sweeping staircase and open fireplaces. The stylish groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos and bridesmaids wore soft sage green dresses, which complemented the neutral colour scheme of Steph’s simple white flower bouquet.

Steph selected the stunning Lola dress by iconic designer Made with Love for her big day. Despite shopping for her gown at the height of the Covid pandemic, Steph said that thankfully this did not impact her experience with us here at LOVE.

“The girls were amazing from the minute I arrived with my mum right through to my dress fittings and delivery for the big day. They also gave me a goody bag on the day of my first appointment which made the experience extra special.”

Steph always knew she wanted a simple dress shape for her wedding but like many brides, it’s often other unexpected dress designs that end up stealing your heart.

Steph thought she’d choose a simple silk cami dress but after trying one on and feeling it wasn’t ‘her’ she fell in LOVE with the show-stopping and beautifully embellished Lola – and who can blame her! Lola really is an effortlessly romantic gown. Covered in beaded sparkle lace, with a structured corset bodice and delicate hand-beaded spaghetti straps, she is a dress that has a wonderful touch of glamour. With a stunning low back and a fabulous detachable belt – Lola is fantastically flattering and was perfect for emphasising Steph’s waist.

After everything this couple faced on the road to their nuptials Steph said that the highlight of the wedding was finally seeing everyone they know and love in one room enjoying every moment as much as they did. Her advice for brides-to-be is “Don’t sweat about the small things – venue, food and music make a happy wedding. Have a vision and stick to it, don’t let people sway you.”

Her top tip is “Take your partner aside and spend 5 minutes watching everyone and absorb the moment.”

We couldn’t agree more! Steph and Rob enjoyed a wedding full to the brim with love and laughter and we couldn’t be happier for them! We just LOVE a happy ever after story, especially for brides that have had to wait so patiently to enjoy their big day.

Thank you so much to Fraser McGee Foto for sharing the wonderful images and huge thanks to their venue Aswarby Rectory and florist Coco in the Country.
