With so many weddings postponed or cancelled due to the pandemic, we thought we’d share a little wedding fairytale magic that took place in December 2020.

That’s right, the gorgeous Claire and Chris defied all the odds and said ‘I do’ in a small and intimate ceremony, witnessed by their very nearest and dearest.

Chris proposed to Claire back in 2017 and they had originally set a date of Easter 2020. Unfortunately, this was the start of the very first lockdown and they were forced to postpone their wedding. They changed their date, their venue, their guest list and re-booked a date for November 2020, but then we entered a second lockdown. Third time lucky, they booked for 21st December 2020 and what resulted was an incredibly special and romantic dream of a day, in the midst of an incredibly difficult time.

Although Claire started shopping for her dream wedding dress pre-pandemic, the search wasn’t without its difficulties. She had just had a baby and found it difficult to feel 100% herself in any of the dresses she tried on. However, with the patient assistance of LOVE stylist Charlotte and a few visits to our gorgeous boutique, Claire fell in LOVE with the magnificent Harper by Made With Love.

And what’s not to LOVE! This elegant gown, made from the most luxurious French crepe, hugs every glorious curve. While the clever cut and design may seem sophisticatedly simple, it flatters and enhances every body shape for an understated and feminine silhouette.

The deep V in the front and back are sexy without revealing too much. While the flowing skirt with stunning train adds a sense of drama and occasion to the simplicity of the cut and fabric.

Claire also decided to go with the dreamy Made With Love tulle overskirt. This versatile, detachable piece can be added at any point during a bride’s wedding day to transform her look. Claire looked particularly gorgeous when she donned her overskirt for the traditional cutting of the cake shot!

The timeless beauty of the dress made an effortless transition from what was supposed to be a spring wedding into the glitz and glam of a winter wedding.

It also perfectly complemented Claire’s colour palette of blush and gold, stylishly used throughout the venue, table settings and in the beautiful flowers by Kelly Louise Floral Artistry.

The day was expertly captured by photographer Lee Brown. In each photograph you can see the LOVE that went into this wedding.

We’ll leave the final words to Claire, as she shares her advice to any bride planning a wedding during this uncertain time.

“Planning a wedding through a pandemic was stressful! That’s the only way to describe it! It was the unknown, not knowing if the plans we were putting in place would actually materialise. And the concerns regarding cost too, and what would/wouldn’t be covered by wedding insurance. But, even after all of this, my advice is – don’t wait for the world to return to normal, who knows when that will be. If you have a date this year and your wedding can take place, do it! It will be all you could wish for and more.”

Huge shout out to some of the other fabulous suppliers that helped make this beautiful wedding happen including Jodie A Smith Make-Up, DJ Andy Murphy and the incredible Little Button Bakery for their stunning wedding cake.

Just remember, LOVE conquers all my beautiful brides to be.
