You only had to twist our arm a little bit to get us over to the Big Apple a couple of weeks ago. We absolutely love that city and we were privileged and beyond thrilled to be able to get a glimpse of Sarah Seven’s latest collection while we were out there.
Known for her unashamedly feminine and whimsical style, Sarah Seven is a popular choice amongst LOVE brides so we were thrilled when she invited us to come to New York for the presentation of The Romantics Collection Part II. This followed on from the launch of this collection back in April 2016 and took inspiration from The Romantic period and Sarah’s love for Paris.
The showcase was held at the Wythe Hotel, a stunning factory conversion on the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn on day 3 of our visit (that’s Why-the not With-E, you Manc lot!). Greeted with Old Fashioned cocktails and old skool hip hop, the anticipation mounted and Sarah did not disappoint!
As we were guided into the industrial-style cellar with exposed-brick walls and steels, we were met with a host of beautiful brides dressed in her wonderful gowns against a backdrop of floor-to-ceiling flowers and foliage (by 5th Ave based Putnam & Putnam no less!), bringing a sense of an inside garden. The girls modelled the dresses beautifully, posing for photographs and co-operating with Jonny’s repeated request for Boomerang shots!
The dresses are quintessentially Sarah Seven, awash with masses of soft tulle, sequins, lace and plunging necklines. Starting at around £2,000, these gowns are beautifully embellished and heavy on detailing and texture, some of which are presented in the most beautiful colours, all whilst retaining simple, clean cut lines and elegance.
We were absolutely honoured to be on an exclusive guest list for dinner in the hotel following the event, joining a select few to get a private audience with Sarah and chat further about her latest collection. The food was divine, the cocktails even better and it certainly helped put Jonny and I in a buying mood.
On the final day of our trip we met with Sarah and her fabulous team at her flagship Soho boutique on Lafayette Street to make our selections and I am pleased to say that an array of her stunning gowns will be making their way to Oxford Road, Altrincham! The rest of the trip was really quite uneventful and featured no further shopping, delicious meals, fancy cocktails or sneaky sightseeing. It certainly did not feature Jonny indulging in a bit of boating in Central Park…
