Love Bridal Boutique – The Grand Opening!

Happy December everyone!

Where do the weeks go hey? We’re now into December, have now officially been open for just 16 weeks,  and already we have lots and lots of beautiful new brides on our books! It’s now starting to look a lot like Christmas too, with our decorations about to go up this week and I’ve even watched a couple of my fave Christmas films!  Rather excitingly, yesterday was the day that our very first LOVE bride got married – the lovely Marcelle and her beau, Chris, who helped her to choose her stunning Mia Mia Bridal gown! What’s more, her photographer of choice was  Jonny Draper Photography – we really couldn’t have imagined that would ever have happened…what are the odds that Jonny would shoot our first ever bride’s big day!?!  Full feature on Marcelle’s wedding coming very soon here on the blog.

In other EXTREMELY EXCITING news, this week Jonny found out that he had won the very prestigious award for Best North-West Wedding Photographer in the 2013 Wedding Industry Awards. We are so overwhelmed and delighted with this award, it is a huge accolade for Jonny and what meant so much to him was that he had been up against some seriously amazing photographers in the region (who are also great friends!), coupled with the fact that the judging process relied mainly on feedback from his brides and grooms. How good’s that!?! No better way of judging and no bigger compliment.  I am so proud of his achievement  – well done love :o)

Now, let’s rewind 16 weeks back to the start of August (seems like such a long time ago now), on a very balmy evening when we first flung open our doors to the boutique with a fabulous launch event to which we invited all our family and friends (which included some seriously amazing and talented industry friends too!).  You may already have seen a couple of pics of this as we were recently featured on the amazing Brides Up North blog! We really wanted to celebrate our launch with all the people who have influenced and supported our vision for the boutique as it is so important to us to work collaboratively with, and build a strong rapport with other like-minded wedding businesses. This is at the heart of what we do and is something we love sharing with all our brides and grooms both through LOVE Bridal Boutique and Jonny Draper Photography.

Introducing LOVE Bridal Boutique…

On arrival, our guests were treated to the grand tour of the boutique and to peruse our dress and accessory collection, which was also being modelled by the beautiful Lizzie and Hannah (thanks ladies!) who you’ll no doubt remember from our launch shoot. Our lovely neighbour, Jonny, who owns  Oxford Road Cafe just across the road, kindly allowed us to invite our guests over the road for bubbly and canapes once they’d had a good look around the boutique. We connected the boutique and the cafe with a long string of bunting across the road (bunting from Jonny’s sister Katie and Ant’s wedding the previous year!) our good friends Jane and Jason from Flower Design decked the cafe out with beautiful flowers, candles and birdcages, we had a scrumptious selection of canapes from superb caterers Top Table Weddings and Events and a lovely selection of sweet treats from our favourite baker And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon which our guests could enjoy whilst having a birds eye view of the boutique.

Lovely to see all our friends enjoying themselves! Including Jane and Jason Thompson from Flower Design, Anna Gill from And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon, Sarah, Poppy and Franny Higham from Styal Lodge, Mick and Sarah Heath from Heaton House Farm, Sian Wild from Didsbury Flower Lounge, Laura Taylor from Green Earth Flowers, Emma Matthews from MillyMog, Gill and Georgina from Dreamcatcher Bridal, John and Joanne Kerr from Dan Kerr Brides/One and Only Bridal Couture, Howard and Sam Wing, Gemma Hallowell MUA, Rob Berry and Lisa Aldersley, Hazel and Giulia from Moth Style
Our fabulous family and friends, including Howard and Sam Wing, Paul and Pip Guard, and Jonny from Oxford Road Cafe!

In true Jonny style (as many will remember from our own wedding day ;o) Jonny then gave a (long and emotional!) speech… I can’t quite remember everything he said but judging from my reaction in one of the photos, it must have been cheeky!

Jonny‘s speech!

And then it was finally time to officially declare the boutique open and who better to do it than the lovely Lisa Aldersley, resuming her role as former Miss Altrincham 1986!

The cutting of the ribbon :o)

A big thanks goes to all our lovely friends and family who were there to help us celebrate the launch of LOVE Bridal Boutique and to Chelsea Shoesmith who kindly took these fab pics on the evening.

What a night – a big belated thanks again to everybody who joined us for such a special evening and moment in our lives, and who supported us in making our big dream a reality x x x
