Happy New Year everybody!
Well, apologies in advance for this being a bit later than planned (January has whizzed by in a flash!) and I’m also sorry that this is going to be a bit of a whopper blog post, mainly because I’ve been ‘harvesting’ lots of amazing pics and news from 2013 without telling you all (sorry!) Needless to say my New Year’s resolution is to keep you well informed and up to date, minute by minute (well maybe not quite that often!), with everything that is happening at LOVE. I promise!
There’s so much to share with you so I’ve tried to limit myself to just a small amount of pics for each wonderful milestone. I promise to then elaborate in individual posts after this :o) Here goes…
What better way to start than with our overwhelming news and MASSIVE accolade of being awarded joint BEST BRIDAL RETAILER IN THE NORTH-WEST in The Wedding Industry Awards!!!!!! And in just over one year of business. Wow! What means the most is that this award was based on votes and feedback from my brides, the ultimate and most important judge of how we’re performing and of the high standards we endeavour to uphold.
AND we also found out at the end of 2013 we were a finalist in the You & Your Wedding Magazine Awards for Best New Bridal Retailer!!!!!! And as this is a 2013 blog and we only found out the results in 2014…. I suppose I can’t reveal the results in this post, so you’ll just have to wait until the next post (as if you don’t know anyway!;o) Eeeeeeek!
A huge milestone of 2013 was our very FIRST Birthday. We had survived a year in business (yay!) and it had been an AMAZING one at that! So what better way to celebrate than with an all singing, all dancing, sparkly event at Styal Lodge ! We wanted to thank all of our amazing family and friends and most importantly our fabulous brides. We decided to use this as an opportunity to showcase our brand new designer collections too with a showstopping catwalk show, which met with rapturous applause from our guests. Thank you so much to Ailsa Baker for choreographing a MEGA Gatsby themed catwalk, and for her amazing dance skills for our intro number which everybody loved! Not to mention all the other lovely surprises and treats we provided them with on the night :o) A huge thank you the wonderful Ayesha Rahman, Danielle Boxall and James Jebson for capturing these images from this amazing night! Sian at The Flower Lounge for the stunning gypsophelia displays, Hipswing for a fabulous catwalk backdrop, the award-winning Howard Wing for entertaining our lovely guests and most of all the amazing Higham family at Styal Lodge who are quite literally our wedding guardian angels! I have so many more thank you’s too which i will reserve for a separate post!
Let’s wind right back to the start of 2013 when we received some amazing news… one of the designers we had lusted after since LOVE was just a twinkle in our eye, had become available for us to stock… and we leapt at the the opportunity! This wonderful designer was Stewart Parvin. A designer who we always knew would sit so beautifully with the our brand and everything that we stand for. We couldn’t believe it. As soon as we had our hands on those beautiful dresses we couldn’t wait to photograph them. And so here we were on location at the fabulous Capesthorne Hall to kickstart an amazing relationship – this venue was a perfect match for these stunningly classic-with-a-modern-twist gowns.
The man himself, Stewart Parvin, visited the boutique to give us one-to-one training… and we all (including Jonny) now have a serious ‘Stewart crush’ as a result of this fab day!
Not to mention having Stewart return back in November to host a fabulous Stewart Parvin Designer Event here at LOVE. So many happy, beautiful brides found their dream dress in our one day event! Pictures to follow at a later date though as we don’t want to reveal the dresses our brides chose until after their big day (obvs!) ;o)
Mia Mia Bridal trunk show February 2013…
A truly amazing 20s inspired collection was created by Terry Fox for 2014. We couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to take these amazing gowns and shoot them in an equally amazing venue, only minutes from the boutique, The Bowdon Rooms. Thanks to the lovely Laura Norrey for being our model for the day!
Jonny launched ‘Jonny Draper Photography Training‘ and the first of these was his Two Day Wedding Photography Masterclass in association with Heaton House Farm and LOVE Bridal Boutique. We provided the beautiful dresses and accessories for our beautiful model, Jen Brook to wear!
We attended a wonderful variety of wedding fayres and events at some amazing venues in Cheshire and beyond…We kickstarted 2013 on a bright wintery day at Quarry Bank Mill, a National Trust property, where we could be seen strutting our stuff on the catwalk and doing a mini-shoot in their beautiful historic surroundings…
And then on to the fabulous 5 star Lowry Hotel in Manchester hosting their catwalk show and then on for some snaps in and around the venue.
We also attended the stunning Heaton House Farm wedding fayre in Rushton Spencer with our pretty stand and catwalk show…
We returned to the fabulous Cheshire stately home, Capesthorne Hall, in March where we hosted the catwalk show for them again.
And then back again to Capesthorne Hall (our second home!!!) in September to strut the catwalk and take advantage of their stunning grounds.
We were then delighted to be a part of the fantastic Brides Up North organised wedding event at The Bowdon Rooms showcasing our dresses and beautiful accessories. This rounded off our wedding fayres for 2013, with lots more planned for 2014!
And what better way to round up the year than with a little photoshoot for our Christmas card in conjunction with the fab The Word Is Love, who hire out the fabulous LOVE letters which we have grown so fond of! Oh and to show off one of our new Stewart Parvin gowns too :o) Here’s the lovely Kate photographed at Styal Lodge looking seriously stunning! Thanks to Jonny for the fab pics!
A big thank you to all the wonderful photographers who helped to capture our year in pictures, but a special mention to my fabulously talented husband, Jonny (off of Jonny Draper Photography as if you didn’t know :o) It must be a bridal retailers dream to have their very own photographer at their disposal, so I feel incredibly lucky! It helps that he’s pretty awesome at what he does too (and he’s not a bad husband either ;o), I’m delighted that so many of my brides have booked him for their own special day!
Also huge thanks to our #dreamteam who have supported us in all our events in so many different ways – our team of models including Ailsa, Sarah, Izzy, Lizzie, Sarah H, Akvilé, Becky, Erin, Nat and Gillian! Thanks so much ladies you are an absolute pleasure to be around :o) Also huge thanks to our hair and make-up gurus – Paisley Gamble for continually stunningly different hair styling and also Helen at Macleod Bradley and Gemma Hallowell for her gorgeous make-up artistry! Our ‘backstage’ team are simply amazing too and it wouldn’t work without them – thanks so much to Lisa, Chris, Clare, Katie, Betty and Emily for giving up their evenings and weekends to help us!xxxxx
I’ve left my final thank you to all of my brides, past and future, who have supported LOVE since we opened! It’s been a wonderful 18 months and we are going from strength to strength and receiving such amazing feedback from you all! It’s AMAZING!!!!! I proudly leave you with a snapshot of my stunning brides from 2013!
♥LOVE Emma xxxxxx♥
