It’s certainly been a whirlwind of silk, lace and chiffon recently as the team and I have travelled the country in search of the perfect dresses for our 2020 (and beyond!) brides. From London to Birmingham and back to London again, these last few months have been amazing! Visiting incredibly luxurious flagship stores, an exclusive bridal trade show, and even a full catwalk show, we’ve seen the most beautiful wedding dresses there are! The only problem was narrowing our orders down so they all fit in the boutique…
As always, I’m treating my LOVE readers to a behind the scenes run down of our buying adventures, brimming with backstage details, sneak peeks and first-to-know knowledge of which gorgeous dresses made the cut and will be arriving at LOVE this Autumn.
So, without further ado…
At the end of March, we travelled to London’s EXCEL for the UK’s most prestigious and luxurious bridal buying event, the White Gallery. Now in its 10th year, White Gallery is firmly established as the foremost designer-only buying event in the international calendar.
We specifically travelled down to see Savannah Miller’s new collection. Completely refined yet totally contemporary, Savannah’s collections are hugely popular with LOVE brides looking to make a cool fashion statement on their big day. Her 2020 collection did not disappoint!
Brimming with luxury silks, low backs, simple classic lines as well as contemporary bridal jumpsuits and trouser suits Savannah has become so famous for. We decided to bring a whopping 7 dresses and a stunning cape home to LOVE, and while some of the details have to remain top secret, I can reveal that one of the beauties who will be here very soon is Adeline. Using Savannah’s signature and flattering heavy matte crepe, Adeline is a V neck gown with intricate beading detail and spaghetti shoulder straps. Gently fitted at the waist with a low plunging V-back and voluminous skirt. I LOVE that it has a detachable sun-ray seamed chiffon cape, which fixes to the shoulder point featuring micro pearl beading on all the seams. It will transition perfectly from day to night!
We’re so excited about this collection we’ve already booked in our Trunk Show event for later this Autumn when we will have an extended collection of Savannah Miller’s beautiful ‘Dance with Me’ 2020 collection (in addition to our very own collection of samples) for a short time only. Next stop was the beautiful Botanical Gardens in Birmingham for the Enzoani 2020 Collection Launch and Catwalk Show. Enzoani always thrill us with their new collections so we were dying to see what gorgeous creations would be on offer this season. The event was made even more special as the creative mastermind behind Enzoani, Kang Chun “KC” Lin himself, was actually there to take a bow at the end of the show.
We’re really proud that LOVE has yet again been named an Elite retailer of Enzoani gowns, and we haven’t been awarded this status by accident. The LOVE team make it their mission to know everything there is to know about this amazing brand. Which is why we headed to Birmingham en masse, our team trip included Jonny, Charlotte, Alice and I!
The show was amazing! A spectacle of detailing, low backs, plunging necklines, beading and show-stopping drama. We selected another 7 dresses for our LOVE brides including the stand-out dress, Olena. She is magnificent! Sleek and fitted, she has a dramatic train, and the peek-a-boo lace panels are so modern and fresh we can see our brides falling for this gown in a big way. We were also thrilled that our good friends at The Word is Love were chosen to provide the stunning light up letters and backdrop for the catwalk show.
Look out for details of the Enzoani Trunk Show we are planning to run at the end of October. We’re lucky enough to be one of the first Enzoani suppliers to hold a Trunk Show this year so we’re expecting this event to book up very quickly indeed!
Cut to the end of May and the intrepid LOVE team headed to the ‘Big Smoke’, this time in search of the new Sassi Holford collection.
Showcased at her flagship store on the exclusive Fulham Road in London, we were welcomed into this little land of luxury by Sassi’s amazing team and treated to a viewing of her 2020 ‘Enamour’ collection.
The collection featured plenty of her fabulous signature silk gowns that we (and our LOVE brides) adore for their classic elegance. But it was also a wonderful treat to see lots of stunning detail too – beautiful laces, beading, hand smocked detail, modern floral long-sleeved bodices, long draped bell sleeves, an array of necklines – high necks, plunging V necks, scooped and bateau necklines and of course lots of lovely low back details too. The pockets on the super elegant bateau neck Elizabeth gown, put this dress on our must have list!
However, the stand-out dress for the team had to be Otilia, with her plunging V neck, cut away under arm side seams and floaty skirt, we could easily envisage our LOVE brides thoroughly enjoying a good swish around our dressing room in this beautiful number!
Of course, it’s no trip to London without a little team treat… after a conflab at Mayfair’s Sketch restaurant over their delicious Afternoon Tea and of course ogling their amazing decor, as a team we made our final dress choices before heading home full of cocktails and cake.
Expect gorgeous silk and satin crepes, stunning modern lace detail with a wee bit of sparkle thrown in too! We know this collection is going to look amazing with some complimentary accessories too, including some fabulous Hermione Harbutt statement pearl hoop earrings, which we’ve added to our already fab accessory collection!
For all you Made with Love fans out there, please don’t panic. We didn’t attend a buying event for new season Made with Love dresses as they do things slightly differently at this beautiful brand. Instead of issuing one collection a year, Made with Love release new dresses throughout the year, as inspiration strikes, so we’re constantly on the edge of our seats for the next amazing creation!
Over the next few weeks we’ll have a couple of their brand new, super gorgeous gowns gracing our rails – Georgie V2 and Riley Crepe will be winging their way to us by the end of summer and we have literally just taken delivery of the stunning Zylah – a gorgeous take on the Georgie dress with luxurious lace, a flattering V neckline and low lace back. PLUS, the Carlie gown has also arrived and this is a combination of the handmade, detailed appliqué bodice of the gorgeous Carla gown and the super slinky crepe skirt of Sadie. Die-hard Made with Love fans will know exactly which dresses we mean but otherwise do head over to Made with Love’s fab insta page where you can drool over these beauties for yourself in much more detail! Even more additions will be made to our ever growing Made with Love collection over the coming weeks and months too so stay tuned for updates!
